In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of apparent violence used against employees of the Police by the head of the former head of Urtsadzor community.

Pursuant to initial data, on January 15, 2022 while apprehending the former head of Urtsadzor community on suspicion of committing arrogation, the latter’s son drove to the opposite lane of the road in his car of “VAZ 2121” make in which there was also one of the residents of the same village, then with the frontal part of the car hit the frontal part of the police car of “Toyota” make. Getting out of the car he started complaining of his father’s apprehension to the police division and did not obey their legal demands.

As a result, two of the police officers received bodily injuries and were taken to medical center.

A criminal case was initiated in Ararat Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Vedi Investigative Division of Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee and was received for production.

During preliminary investigation necessary investigative and other procedural actions were conducted – inspections of the scene and transport means during which a double-barreled hunting gun, hunting gun case and bullets were found, forensic medical examination was commissioned.

On the same day the son of the former head of Urtsadzor community was arrested on suspicion of using violence against the police officers.

Preliminary investigation is conducted. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the comprehensive and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
