Within Criminal Proceeding on Hooliganism with Weapon Committed in Abovyan Town Charge Pressed against three more Persons
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on hooliganism with a weapon and physical impact committed against the resident of Abovyan in Constitution Square of the same town is ongoing in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
It was earlier informed that the incident took place on March 7, 2024 at about 19:00.
Through investigation it was found out that short while before the incident, at the bus stop, located on Azatutyan Avenue of Yerevan, a quarrel and brawl on passenger transportation took place between the employees of an LLC engaged in passenger transportation and V.M., the resident of Abovyan community which, pursuant to data obtained through investigation, went on in front of the bakery located in Constitution Square of Abovyan town.
Data were obtained on the allegation that several people had been involved in the incident during which showing disrespect for public and obvious contempt for legal and moral norms, contrasting the surroundings with their behavior, they blocked the road of V.M.'s car from both sides with cars, scolding hit V.M. with hands and feet on different parts of his body, during which one of those involved in the incident fired a shot from a rifle of «Baricat $17» model towards V.M., fortunately he failed.
In the result of consistent and large-scale actions conducted by the investigators of the investigative group some of those, having beaten the victim and fired shots towards him, were identified.
On the base of the obtained facts, within the framework of the proceeding, public criminal prosecution had been initiated against 4 persons. Charge had been pressed against the person, who had apparently fired a shot, according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 195 and the Part 3 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. Detention had been chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
Charge was pressed against three more persons according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 195 and the Part 1 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. By the court’s decision detention was used as a pretrial measure against one of the mentioned three persons, home detention – against two of them.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
