39 Year-Old Man Detained within Criminal Case on Banditry Committed in Stepanavan

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted and operative-intelligence measures taken within the criminal case investigated in Stepanavan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of banditry against the resident of Stepanavan were found out.

Particularly, actual data were obtained on the allegation that 39 year-old resident of Stepanavan, being aware that the resident of the same town was cashing money from ATMs operating in several shops and was taking home, on the evening of March 14, 2020 taking advantage of the fact that the members of the woman’s family were out, illegally entered the mentioned woman’s apartment where at about 20:30 attacked the woman who had just returned home, hit her on the face with hands causing bodily damage of medium gravity, stole her bag from her hand in which there was money in particularly large amount - 4.280.700 AMD and fled.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 39 year-old man for allegedly committing an act envisaged by the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 (banditry) of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
