A criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on armed incident that took place on Yerevan-Ejmiatsin road on the late evening of September 16.
 

A report was received from the resident of the village of Arshaluys, Armavir region Aram Grigoryan informing that on September 16 at about 23:00 on Yerevan-Ejmiatsin road – near the area of cemetery of Zvartnots district shots were fired from the hall of “Vaz 21-06” towards “Lexus” in which the Mayor of Ejmiatsin Karen Grigoryan and his brother Arman Grigoryan were. Then those who fired shots escaped. According to the report, the candidate of Mayor of Ejmiatsin Artur Tumanyan was in “Vaz 21-06” from which shots were fired.
 

The person, who had submitted the report told that “Vaz 21-06” was followed and “Toyota Camry” driven by A. Grigoryan also joined the chase, “Vaz 21-06” was hit, stopped and a scuffle started during which the rifle with which a shot was fired towards “Lexus” was taken.  
 

Considering that in the report submitted by the citizen there are elements of crime envisaged by the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code a criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division and urgent investigatory actions were conducted to find all circumstances of the case.
 

Inspection of the site was conducted during which at the end of Kamo Street of Ejmiatsin town – near the crossroad of Kamo-Mashtots streets 3 cars damaged in the result of crash were found.
 

During inspection, in order to find shot products ointments were taken from different parts of the car halls which were packed separately.

Through inspection of the site a capsule of 9 mm caliber was found and confiscated.
 

Besides, during preliminary investigation a rifle of “Makarov” model was presented to the investigative body mentioning that the shots were fired from the mentioned rifle.  
 

Forensic examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case, a number of persons were interrogated.
 

Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to verify the circumstances mentioned in the report.
 

On September 17 the investigative body was informed that A. Tumanyan and his supporter with different bodily injuries were taken to medical center. According to doctors A. Tumanyan is not able to give testimony, interrogation of the other injured is ongoing; he has presented another version.
 

By the instruction of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases. An investigatory plan has been worked out and investigatory actions of great volume are conducted, subdivisions of the police have been instructed to take operative-intelligence measures.
