In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of hooliganism, willful infliction of heavy bodily damage and banditry committed at “Gai Market” store were found out.

Through preliminary investigation it was found out that on March 24, 2021 at about 01:20 45 year-old resident of Kotayk province together with two 42 year-old residents of the same province and a person not identified yet in the car of “Toyota Camry” make parked in front of the mentioned store to do shopping. 45 year-old man and the person not identified yet entered the store, the others waited in the car. 45 year-old man brought the goods by hand and put them on the desk in front of the cashier but the latter demanded that the goods should be approached in the cart. Using the slightest occasion the man started arguing with the cashier.

Ignoring the presence of other customers in the store 45 year-old man and the person not identified behaved aggressively towards the cashier and scolded. The latter’s brother, the store owner intervened in the argument after which those waiting in the car also entered the store. Breaching the public order for a long time they disturbed the peace of customers and employees of the store, spoiled the property of the store. The above mentioned 42 year-old men, for the purpose of infliction of heavy bodily damage to the cashier’s health, hit him with hands and feet on different parts of his body causing heavy bodily damage threatening to life.

Then the two 42 year-old men using a knife stole the golden chain of the store owner by pulling it from his neck and fled causing pecuniary damage in large amount.

In the result of investigative actions and operative-intelligence measures 45 year-old resident of Kotayk province was found and brought to the investigative body. Charge was pressed against him according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 (hooliganism) of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. The two 42 year-old men were involved as a defendant according to the Part 4 of the Article 258, the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 (infliction of willful heavy damage to health) and the Points 1, 2 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 (banditry) of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them and search was declared.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
