Argument in schoolyard; person having fired shot identified
In the result of necessary measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the motive of the incident with use of weapon that took place in the yard of a Yerevan school, as well as those involved in the incident was found.
On February 28, 2018 at about 21:30 reports were submitted by two citizens informing that shots were fired in the yard of one of the schools in Yerevan. According to the citizens shots and noise were heard from the schoolyard, there were a lot of people at the site who left after the shots. The employees of law enforcement bodies, who had left for the site, during the inspection found a rubber capsule.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, an investigatory plan was worked out and necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures were taken to find all circumstances of the case.
As a result, it was found that a group of young men argued over personal matters in the schoolyard. The argument turned into brawl during which one of those involved fired a shot from a gas pistol. The latter was identified, he was involved as a defendant and questioned. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. The suspect submitted the gas pistol with which he had fired during the argument.
Forensic medical examinations were commissioned.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of circumstances of the case, to find those involved in the incident and to personalize their actions.
