The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan paid a working visit to Gegharkunik province to get acquainted with the work done by regional investigative department in the previous year.

The Head of Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department Karen Torosyan reported about the work done by the regional investigative department in 2018.

In 2018 932 crime cases were recorded at the area of Gegharkunik province as compared with 738 cases of the previous year.

71% of the recorded crimes was disclosed.

The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee discussed the procedure of the initiated criminal cases. He gave instructions to organize them in a more efficient way, as well as to correct the mistakes made by investigators during inspection of the scene.

IC Chairman mentioned that the subdivision head should hold periodic consultations with the staff of subordinate subdivisions to improve the theoretical knowledge of the staff, the process of investigation of criminal cases, as well as to give quick solutions to problems. 

“We shall go the way of improvement and shall not be satisfied with what we have. Our task is not to provide the number but is to provide the high quality of preliminary investigation. The investigators’ overload shall not influence the quality of preliminary investigation”, emphasized the IC Chairman.

Hayk Grigoryan referred to the certification to be held mentioning that it is a means to have the real picture of knowledge. “Certification is not a means of getting rid of somebody but it is the best option to have the real picture of the knowledge. Theoretical knowledge shall be at a proper level, otherwise we will take rough steps”, said Hayk Grigoryan.

IC Chairman stated that one of the preconditions to organize the work efficiently is the healthy moral-psychological atmosphere. “Subdivision head should create healthy moral-psychological atmosphere which will contribute to literate organization of the work”, emphasized Hayk Grigoryan.

Hayk Grigoryan gave a positive assessment to the work of the regional investigative department and instructed the department head to present the employees who have best indices during the service for encouragement.
