Investigation is conducted in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of inflicting firearm injury to 31 year-old man. Charge was pressed against 26 year-old resident of the same province.

On January 5, 2019 at 02:38 the resident of Ararat, born in 1987, submitted a report to the Police informing that on January 5, 2019 at about 23:30 near the polyclinic of Ararat town a shot was fired towards him from a white car. Pursuant to the report, the person who had fired a shot was a resident of Ararat town, born in 1992.

On the same day at 01:15 the father of the man, born in 1987, also submitted a report to the Police mentioning that on January 5, 2019 at about 23:30 their 26 year-old neighbor fired several shots from his car of “Toyota Prado” make towards them. As a result, his 31 year-old son sustained injuries on his feet.

A criminal case was initiated in Ararat Division of the Police according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.

On January 6, 2019 the criminal case was received in the proceeding of Vedi Investigative Division of Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. 31 year-old man was found the injured party.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which 2 capsules fired from a hunting gun, as well as blood-like traces were found. A number of persons were questioned, search was conducted.

In the result of urgent investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances of the case were found out; the scene was found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Ararat town, born in 1992.

Through preliminary investigation it was found out that on the day of the incident – on January 5, 2019 at about 23:30, in the yard of multi-apartment building near the polyclinic, the man, born in 1992 out of hooligan motives, with a desire to show disrespect to society, willfully violated the public order, showed obvious disrespect; that is he drove in his car of “Toyota Prado” make at a high speed to about 15-20 residents who were in the yard and scolded them.   

Then  with the purpose of emphasizing his personality the young man called the man, born in 1987, to him and when the latter was approaching he held the hunting gun towards the lower limbs of the man from the car driver’s window, fired four shots and fled. In the result of the shots 31 year-old man sustained firearm injuries on the lower limbs and left wrist.

Forensic medical, forensic trace, forensic ballistic and forensic biological examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

The relevant subdivision of the Police was tasked to take measures to find 26 year-old young man and bring him to the investigative body.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures on January 8, 2019 the man was found at “Zvartnots” airport and was arrested.

On January 10, 2019 charge was pressed against 26 year-old young man according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code.

The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
