Criminal Case Initiated on Hooliganism Committed with Weapon

Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of hooliganism committed with weapon against the resident of Aragatsavan village.

On November 7, 2019 at 14:30 the resident of Aragatsavan village of Aragatsotn province submitted a report in Baghramyan Police Division informing that on the same day at about 12:00 in front of the building of “Talin” water users company the residents of Ashnak village – Sapeyan brothers as well as their cousins argued with him, hit him with hands and one of them fired a shot in the air with a firearm like “Winchester” then fired towards him three more times.

A criminal case was initiated in Baghramyan Police Division according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for conduction of preliminary investigation and was received in proceeding. The resident of Aragatsavan village was found the injured party and questioned.

Pursuant to initial data, on the day of the incident 4 Sapeyan brothers and one more resident of Aragatsotn, willfully violating public order and showing obvious disrespect to public, using violence, hit the resident of Aragatsavan village during which one of Sapeyan brothers fired shots towards the latter.

In the result of investigatory actions it was found out that it was T. Sapeyan who fired shots from a hunting gun of «MAVERICK» model registered in his name. Through inspection of the scene two bullet containers of the hunting gun were found.

During preliminary investigation a number of investigatory actions were conducted – confiscations, interrogations, confrontations, searches in apartments of those involved in the argument during which the hunting gun which was the crime tool was presented to the investigative body.

On November 11 T. Sapeyan turned himself to Armavir Regional Investigative Department and was questioned. The latter was involved as a suspect and signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
