On 9 August, 2020 at 01:25 a call was received from a citizen informing that there were people in several cars at the section from Riga Street to Arabkir 19 Street of Yerevan and shots were heard.

Inspection of the scene was conducted by the investigatory-operative group during which fired capsules of several calibers were confiscated, blood-like traces were found and samples were taken.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 (hooliganism) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation a number of people were questioned, cameras were confiscated.

In the result of investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures two of those involved in the incident were identified; they are 34 and 24 year-old residents of Yerevan. They were arrested on suspicion of committing hooliganism with weapon.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to find the weapons which are crime tools, the cars pointed out in the report, to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case, to find out the whole frame of those involved in the incident, to find them, to personalize their actions and to give criminal legal assessment, as well as to verify circumstances pointed out in testimonies.

Forensic ballistic and forensic medical examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.
