Murder and Murder Attempt Committed in Ejmiatsin Disclosed
In the result of urgent investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of murder and murder attempt committed in Ejmiatsin were found out.
On February 22, 2020 at about 11:20 for the purpose of illegal deprivation of fellow citizen’s life the resident of Ejmiatsin fired shots towards the latter with a rifle of “AK-47” model of 7.62mm kept by him illegally and murdered him.
Then, for the purpose of murdering the victim’s wife with the same rifle, he fired shots in a way dangerous for many people’s life towards the woman and her 6 and 12 year-old children. However, under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime as the victim’s wife entered the house together with her children, closed the iron door and hid.
A criminal case was initiated on apparent crimes according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 (murder), the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 (murder attempt) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 (Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of RA Criminal Code.
The resident of Ejmiatsin was arrested on suspicion of committing the mentioned crimes.
Investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume are conducted to find out circumstances of the cases.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
