Number of Criminal Cases in IC Proceeding Significantly Increased in First Half of 2018

In the first half of 2018 the number of criminal cases investigated in the proceeding of the RA Investigative Committee has significantly increased therefore the investigators’ load has also increased.

Pursuant to the examinations, during the first half of 2018 12622 criminal cases were in the proceeding of subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee. This index exceeds the number of criminal cases which were in the proceeding of the RA Investigative Committee at the same period of the previous 4 years. For comparison, let us mention that in the first half of 2017 the number of criminal cases was 10526.  

Conditioned with the increase of the number of criminal cases the investigators’ load has also increased. Particularly, in the first half of 2018 the average load of investigators was 28 as compared with 23 criminal cases in the same period of 2017.

In the result of analysis of crime dynamics it was found out that in the observed period – in the first half of 2018 the number of cases on corruption crimes have also increased among criminal cases investigated. Particularly, 551 criminal cases on corruption crime were investigated in the IC proceeding and 332 criminal cases on corruption crime were investigated in the same period of 2017.
