Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on escape attempt by the person convicted for murder was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Through preliminary investigation it was found that on August 24, 2017 the person convicted in May, 2017 for committing a crime envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code – murder was taken to medical center of Vanadzor for medical examination accompanied by three employees of “Vanadzor” penitentiary.

After being examined at about 13:46 on the way to the same penitentiary in a service car accompanied by the employees of penitentiary the convict ran trying to escape, however he fell on the way and was caught by the above mentioned employees of “Vanadzor” penitentiary.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against A. Shahinyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-355 of RA Criminal Code.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the Court of First Instance of Lori region.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
