Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on willful infliction of heavy bodily damage, using violence against a representative of authorities, illegal procurement, keeping, carrying of weapons, illegal cultivation of herbs prohibited for processing, illegal turnover of narcotic drugs was completed in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation it was found out that on July 7, 2020 31 year-old resident of Ejmiatsin argued with his fellow citizen on scolding while talking on the phone during which he hit the latter with hands and for the purpose of infliction of heavy bodily damage stabbed him on several parts of his body causing heavy bodily damage and fled.

On the way noticing that policemen were pursuing them he instructed his friend who was driving not to obey the policemen’s legal demands to stop the car. However in Mashtots Street of Ejmiatsin the driver stopped the car after which 31 year-old man held the gun, he had taken with him, out of the window towards the policeman carrying out his service duties and threatening to use violence demanded not to approach.

In the result of a number of investigative actions other crimes committed by the same person were also disclosed.

Particularly, it was found out that the latter procured and kept a hand grenade of “F1” model and an explosive for it which were found and confiscated.

Though investigation factual data were also obtained on cultivation of herbs prohibited for processing, as well as illegal turnover of narcotic drugs committed by 31 year-old man.

Through search conducted during preliminary investigation as prescribed by law 35 herbs of hemp type were found in the garden next to his house, 1,063 grams of herbal mixture of crushed tetrahydrocannabinols and narcotic drugs of “Marijuana” type in particularly large amount -  86,36 grams were found in his house.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 31 year-old resident of Ejmiatsin according to the Part 1 of the Article 316, the Part 1 of the Article 325, the Part 1 of the Article 273, the Part 3 of the Article 268, the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

The part on procurement of weapon was separated in a separate proceeding preliminary investigation of which is ongoing.

Measures are taken to find out the source, circumstances of procurement of the grenade.
