Through comprehensive investigation conducted in the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of smuggling, illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount committed by two residents of Yerevan were found out.

Pursuant to factual data obtained in the result of operative-intelligence measures taken by the employees of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as necessary investigative and procedural actions conducted by the investigative body, 27 year-old resident of Yerevan together with his 29 year-old friend, reached agreement with a person not identified yet, living in the IRI, on smuggling various types of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount to the RA and procuring various types of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount with the purpose to realize it. On January 10, 2024 they left for Meghri town in the car of «CHRYSLER PT CRUISER» make driven by 27 year-old young man. The next day – on January 11, at the road section adjacent to the state border of the Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia, pointed out by the citizen of Iran, not identified yet, over the state border the latter gave them 4598,58 grams of drug of «Methamphetamine», 489,12 grams of «Opium», 198,01 grams of «Heroine» and 5401,92 grams of «Marijuana» types, packed in polyethylene bags. In order to realize them, the young men illegally procured, put them in the car, illegally kept and transported them which were found on the same day through the search conducted in the car.

On the base of the obtained sufficient facts charge was pressed against 27 year-old young man and his friend according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 46-399 and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the article 393 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against them.

The part on the mentioned young men was separated in a separate proceeding, preliminary investigation of which was completed. The materials of the criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.

Preliminary investigation on the part of smuggling various types of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount to the RA by a person not identified yet, living in the IRI and realizing to the mentioned defendants is ongoing.
