Prime Minister Introduced Artur Poghosyan, Newly Appointed Chairman of Investigative Committee (video, photos)
The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed Chairman of the Investigative Committee Artur Poghosyan to the members of the Board and staff of the RA Investigative Committee.
The Prime Minister first thanked Argishti Kyaramyan, the former Chairman of the Investigative Committee for the work performed in the position held.
“In recent days, when I introduce our newly appointed colleagues and talk about our colleagues, who left their positions, I also note that our colleagues have become very experienced at a young age. This leads to the conclusion that we can say about at least the majority of our colleagues that their potential for being in the state service is not at all exhausted, especially in our current reality, when experienced people are needed for the further development of our state”, said the Prime Minister.
Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Artur Poghosyan and wished him success in the position of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
“Mr. Poghosyan is also not a new person to the Government, the investigative and judicial system. I know Mr. Poghosyan from his position as head of the NSS Investigation Department. Of course, I must also wish him success in this responsible work, as today the Investigative Committee essentially investigates 99 percent of criminal cases in our country with possibilities and consequences arising from this. Yes, it is a very great opportunity, a very great lever, but on the other hand, it is a very great responsibility in our current conditions, in the context of our current problems, in the context of problems with the perception of justice and fairness”, noted the Prime Minister, raising the issue at the Government session to Mr. Poghosyan according to which fairness and justice are very important in our country.
According to the Prime Minister, it is also important for the judicial system and the public to clearly articulate what is meant by justice and fairness, so that there aren't too many misinterpretations there. “Establishing a standard of fairness and justice is a very important function and the role of the Investigative Committee in this function is difficult to underestimate. Understandably, it wasn't easy to make that political decision to centralize 99 percent of the investigative function in one body because it was clear what concerns and fears there were, however, I am sure that the right decision has been made. And also, from the perspective of establishing a standard of justice and fairness, a very important decision has been made”, said the Prime Minister.
Argishti Kyaramyan expressed gratitude to the head of the state for the high trust he has shown in him at all times. "I am very grateful for it and thankful for the opportunity you have given me to serve my homeland. I would like to express gratitude to my colleagues in the Investigative Committee, as well for serving together, being by my side in difficult situations, and providing service alongside me during this time." Argishti Kyaramyan also congratulated Artur Poghosyan on the occasion of the appointment.
In his turn, Artur Poghosyan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the trust and noted. “This is an opportunity to serve our country, people and to implement the tasks that have been outlined and are expected by our society”. The newly appointed Chairman of the Investigative Committee assured that the Investigative Committee has sufficient potential and will to implement these tasks.
