33 year-old Man Arrested on Suspicion of Committing Theft
In the result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, as well as measures taken jointly with the employees of the RA Police the case of theft committed some days before from the car owned by “Haypost” CJSC was disclosed.
On March 2, 2022 at 13:50 a citizen called the RA Police and told that the bag with money intended for pensions - 6.500.000 AMD had disappeared from the mentioned car parked in front of the post office in Charentsavan town.
A criminal case was initiated in Charentsavan Police Division according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 177 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Kotayk Regional Investigative Department for conduction of preliminary investigation.
In the result of urgent measures taken during preliminary investigation 33 year-old resident of Yerevan was arrested on suspicion of committing the mentioned theft. He gave self-incriminating testimony and expressed willingness to present the stolen money.
During the search conducted with participation of 33 year-old man the latter presented 6.500.000 AMD kept in his apartment which was confiscated.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
