Theft in Particularly Large Amount Disclosed; One Person Arrested
Within the criminal case investigated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of theft in particularly large amount were found out. One person was arrested.
Pursuant to initial data, on the morning of November 21, 2019 the person having committed the alleged crime by opening the locks of the entrance door in an unknown way entered one of the apartments located in Teryan Street of Kajaran town and stole a metal safe in which there was money in particularly large amount - 20.000 USD tantamount to 9.539.600 AMD and about 35 pieces of golden jewelry.
A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Points 1 and 1.1 of the Part 3 of the Article 177 of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures a number of circumstances of the case were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Kajaran, born in 1981. The latter was arrested.
Through preliminary investigation it was found out that 4 persons helped the person having committed the alleged crime who moved the stolen metal safe together with him, opened it with a crowbar, took the money and golden jewelry which were in the safe and then threw it down the canyon. The metal safe, empty boxes of golden jewelry and 28 bullets of 12mm caliber were found.
Forensic trace, forensic merchandising and finger print examinations were commissioned.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find those having committed the alleged crime as well as the stolen money and jewelry.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
