A criminal case initiated on the incident that took place at the office of “Civic Consciousness” NGO
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on the incident that took place on August 14 at the office of “Civic Consciousness” NGO, necessary investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to provide the objective and comprehensive examination of the case.
On August 14, 2015 the Police Central Station received a report from a citizen informing that on the same day at about 17:00 iat the office of “Civic Consciousness” NGO a group of members of “Heritage” party brutally violated the public order and the regular work of the NGO. According to the applicant, expressing obvious disrespect in relation to public, the members of the party attacked him and other members of the organization, battered them during which he shot upward with his gas pistol. After it the participants of the row escaped and they tuned to the police.
The materials prepared in Police Central Station were received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department and a criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code (Hooliganism committed by a group of persons).
Investigation is conducted. Additional information on the results will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
