The working visit of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan to Georgia continues.

Within the framework of the visit the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee was received by the Prosecutor General of Georgia Irakli Shotadze. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting held in Prosecutor General’s Office in Georgia the parties discussed issues regarding the cooperation of the law enforcement bodies of the two countries in fight against crime as well as mutual legal aid within the framework of criminal proceedings.

Argishti Kyaramyan underlined that the RA Investigative Committee strives to develop the interactions with the law enforcement bodies of Georgia as much as possible based on the general needs of enhancing the efficiency of preliminary investigation within the framework of criminal proceedings, sharing experience and confronting transnational crimes.

Irakli Shotadze and Argishti Kyaramyan presented the scope of functions and features of the systems managed by them.

Importance was attached to the consistent deepening of effective cooperation between the profile departments of the two countries. In that context, reference was made to the recent visits of RA and Georgian Prosecutors General to Georgia and Armenia.

Both parties expressed willingness to contribute to the implementation of new opportunities for the exchange of experience and information between the law enforcement bodies of the two countries.
