The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee and Ambassador of India to Armenia Discuss Issues of Cooperation in Legal Field (photos)
On September 14 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha visited the RA Investigative Committee. The delegation headed by her was received by the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan.
The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee emphasized the current trends in the development of Armenian-Indian multi-vector relations, the effectiveness of which has become significant in the legal field, as well.
Particularly, it was underlined that the law enforcement bodies of India respond quickly and promptly to all requests for mutual legal assistance by the RA Investigative Committee, there are actually no requests that go unfulfilled, and the contact link established between the Committee and the Embassy of India is functioning without interruption. They significantly contribute to the efficiency of information exchange and preliminary investigation of criminal proceedings.
Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha, in turn, valued the centuries-old Armenian-Indian relations noting that their warmth is continuous. She thanked the RA Investigative Committee for its interest and efforts in cooperation with the Embassy and also emphasized the respectful attitude towards Indian citizens in Armenia.
During the meeting, issues related to deepening of cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of Armenia and India, the legal protection of a large number of Indian citizens in Armenia for educational and work purposes, and the exchange of information related to criminal proceedings related to them were discussed.
The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee noticed with satisfaction that in the recent period of increasing influx of people from India, there is no increase in the quantity of crimes committed by them. It was emphasized that the RA Investigative Committee's focus is on providing a quick criminal-legal response to criminal harassment against Indian citizens in our country.
Both sides expressed their belief that the Ambassador's visit would be a new stimulus for the progress of bilateral legal relations.
