Within the framework of the visit to Georgia the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee has had a meeting today with the Head of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance Soso Ramishvili. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan also took part in the meeting.

Soso Ramishvili and Argishti Kyaramyan presented the main functions and features of the structures managed by them.

The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee noted that in the conditions of dynamically developing economic ties with Georgia, large volumes of passenger and cargo transportation, the close cooperation with the competent authorities of Georgia, including the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, is of particular importance, especially in terms of prevention and disclosure of smuggling, economic crimes, and expressed readiness to intensify efforts in that direction.

Soso Ramishvili also emphasized the necessity of deepening cooperation in those fields attaching importance to the high-level mutual visits and the achievement of agreements in terms of its promotion.

During the meeting the possible directions, ways and problems of further cooperation between the structures, as well as the perspectives of implementation of joint programs of experience exchange were discussed.

At the end of the visit the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee visited the RA Embassy in Tbilisi, as well. Argishti Kyaramyan thanked the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan for organizing the full and effective visit at a high level, greatly contributing to the establishment of new quality relations between the RA Investigative Committee and Georgia's law enforcement bodies. Argishti Kyaramyan awarded Ashot Smbatyan with medal “For Cooperation” of the RA Investigative Committee.
