A criminal case was initiated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee on armed incident that took place today in “Armenia Medical Center”.

Pursuant to initial data, a convict, serving his term in a penitentiary, was taken to «Armenia Medical Center» by the employees of penitentiary to be examined. During the medical examination an armed person entered the room and fired shots trying to organize the convict’s escape. The armed person was neutralized by the employees of penitentiary during which the convict took the rifle of one of the employees, fired shots towards them trying to escape. The convict was neutralized at the entrance of the medical center, his escape was prevented.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Point 3 of the Part 3 of the Article 238 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory group was created.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
