Banditry in Tavush

A criminal case was initiated in Noyemberyan Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on banditry committed in the village of Baghanis of Tavush region.

On September 16, 2015 at 05:00 a call was received informing that banditry had been committed against the resident of the village of Baghanis, Tavush region, Ararat Harutyunyan.

The investigatory-operative group left for the scene immediately. It was found that on September 16, 2015 at about 02:30 with the purpose of capturing another person’s property, three masked persons illegally entered the house of the resident of the village of Baghanis, Tavush region, Ararat Harutyunyan. With a threat to commit violence dangerous for life by using weapon and knife, they hit the latter with hands and feet inflicting him bodily damages. The persons having committed the apparent crime tied his and his wife’s hands, feet, mouth and eyes, took out the golden earrings from the wife’s ears and stole them. They also took the money the spouses had in the house and escaped.

On September 16, 2015 a criminal case was initiated in Noyemberyan Investigative Division according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code. Ararat Harutyunyan and his wife were found injured parties and were interrogated.

Forensic medical examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to identify the persons having committed the apparent crime.
