Charge pressed for voting instead of another person in polling station N 39/39
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the resident of the same region V. Stepanyan for voting instead of another person in polling station N 39/39.
Through preliminary investigation it was found that on December 6, 2015 at about 11:00 the resident of the same region V. Stepanyan took part in referendum on Constitutional reforms in polling station N 39/39 after which on the same day at about 12:30 he went to the same polling station again and voted instead of his brother. The mentioned allegation was found by the head of the electoral commission Karine Habetyan and a report was submitted to Police Station of Vayq.
On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code.
On December 8, 2015 signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against V. Stepanyan and on December 15 charge was pressed according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code. The latter pled guilty and gave testimony.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
