Preliminary investigation of the criminal cases initiated on attempt of voting instead of other persons in polling station N 10/13 was completed in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of the RA Investigative Committee.  
 

Through preliminary investigation it was grounded that during referendum on Constitutional reforms held on December 6, 2015 the resident of Yerevan K. Yardumyan, registered in polling station N 10/11, went to polling station N 10/13 with the purpose of voting instead of another person.
 

According to preliminary investigation data he presented another person’s passport to the members of the commission and received the appropriate ballot. However, he could not complete the crime under unforeseen circumstances. Approaching the ballot-box he noticed the commission members telling another citizen standing at the ballot-box that he could not vote as there was a stamp in his passport confirming that he had already participated in voting.
 

The mentioned citizen seized his passport from the commission member and escaped, the commission members called a policeman in the result of which K. Yardudmyan got frightened and thinking that he could not do what he had intended to escaped taking his ballot with him.
 

Through preliminary investigation the person who had attempted to vote instead of another person in polling station N 10/13 was identified, as well. He is a resident of Yerevan O. Tosunyan.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against K. Yardumyan and O. Tosunyan according to the Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code for attempt to vote instead of another person.
 

The criminal cases with the bill of indictment were sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
