Criminal case initiated on threats against editor-in-chief of “Medialab.am” news site received in proceeding of RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases
The criminal case initiated on threats against the editor-in-chief of “Medialab.am” news site was received in the proceeding of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
Through materials prepared in General Department of Fight against Organized Crime of the Police adjunct to the RA Government it was found out that on January 28, 2018 a user in the name of «Hayk Berman Ohanyan», seeing a caricature on Feacebook website referred to «Medialab.am» news site, on Facebook page of «Medialab.am» news site and then through writing personal letters to the editor-in-chief of the news site threatened to murder related to the mentioned caricature.
On the base of the prepared materials on February 6, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in the RA Prosecutor General's Office according to the Part 1 of the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code which on February 9 was received in the proceeding of senior investigator of particularly important cases of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA IC.
Preliminary investigation is conducted, necessary investigatory and other procedural measures are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
Additional information on investigation results will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
