FBI Legal Attaché in Armenia and Georgia Visited the RA Investigative Committee; Issues on Further Cooperation Discussed (photos)

On August 27 Arsen Ayvazyan, Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee received the delegation headed by Alexander V. Tiguy, Legal Attaché in Armenia and Georgia of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the U.S. Department of Justice.  

Congratulating Mr. Tiguy on taking up the mentioned responsible position, Arsen Ayvazyan expressed confidence that the warm and efficient cooperation established between the RA Investigative Committee and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as the U.S. Embassy to Armenia will develop successfully, taking into consideration the rich experience of Mr. Tiguy’s previous activity, as well as the opportunities created by cooperation memorandums signed between the RA Investigative Committee and the U.S. Justice Department in 2023 which have brought the relations between the two structures to a new level.   

Thanking for the warm reception, Mr. Alexander V. Tiguy expressed belief that the cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of the two countries, as well as the further implementation of the joint programs aimed at strengthening the RA Investigative Committee will significantly boost the efforts made by both sides in criminal legal fight against transnational crimes, in particular and will contribute to development of criminal justice in Armenia.

During the meeting Mr. Ayvazyan presented the structural and functional features of the investigative system in Armenia, the process of reforms in the RA Investigative Committee.

Thoughts were exchanged on new opportunities and formats to develop cooperation based on the already formed rich base. Importance was attached to the continuation of the process of increasing the efficiency of the preliminary investigation in crimes of particular danger to the public, exchanging information and experience within criminal proceedings.
