Five persons detained; lawyers invited to represent their interests involved as defense attorneys
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of RA Investigative Committee initiated on preparation of mass disorder in places where public events are due to be held on April 24, 2015, five persons were detained on April 7, 2015.
Taking public interest into consideration, we inform that Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavel Manukyan, Gevorg Safaryan, Zhirayr Sefilyan and Garegin Chuqaszyan were detained.
Their rights were explained to them in accordance with the law. They all expressed a desire to have a defense attorney.
The lawyers invited by the suspects and their relatives were involved as defense attorneys.
The defense attorneys of Zhirayr Sefilyan and Garegin Chuqaszyan are Tigran Yegoryan and Hayk Grigoryan, Pavel Manukyan’s defense attorney is Hayk Grigoryan and Gevorg Safaryan’s defense attorney is Gevorg Davtyan.
The interests of the suspect Varuzhan Avetisyan are represented by 4 lawyers – Tigran Yegoryan, Hayk Grigoryan, Lusine Hakobyan and Gevorg Davtyan.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Joint investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures are taken together with the officials of RA National Security Service and RA Police to find all the circumstances of preparation of the apparent crime. Additional information on their results will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
