41 year-old Resident of Artashat, Charged with Murder Committed on April 30 in Myasnikyan Street of Yerevan, Detained
In the result of investigative, procedural actions conducted within the framework of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Third Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, as well as necessary measures taken by the employees of the RA Police significant circumstances of murder committed in Myasnikyan Street of Yerevan on April 30 were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.
It was earlier informed that on April 30, 2023 late in the evening a man’s body bleeding, lying unconscious in front of the entrance of a house on Myasnikyan Avenue was found with an apparent firearm injury on the head.
It was found out that the victim was a resident of the same house.
Through inspection of the scene two capsules were found, a fragment of a bullet fired apparently from a firearm was found on the entrance door, other items of interest to investigation were found as well.
Numerous witnesses were questioned. Forensic medical expertise of the body, forensic ballistic and forensic trace complex expertise was commissioned.
A number of hypotheses had been put forward on which large-scale coordinated and urgent investigative and procedural actions were conducted, operative-intelligence measures were taken.
During preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding on the right side of Saralanj Street the pistol, which was the instrument of crime, the pistol breech cover, the cartridge case, the coat and hat of the person having committed the alleged crime were found at several distances from one another which were taken by the investigative body.
In the result of operative-intelligence measures the person having committed the alleged crime was also identified; he is 42 year-old resident of Artashat G.H..
Pursuant to the obtained data, on April 30, 2023 the latter left for the school located on Heratsi Street in a car of “Nissan” make where he waited for the victim. When the latter approached his residence, 42 year-old man approached him, fired two shots towards the latter from a firearm kept by him illegally and fled.
On May 2, 2023 G.H. was found at Bagratashen checkpoint. The latter was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of crime committal.
A motion was submitted to the prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against G.H which was sufficed. Charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code and detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
