A report was received informing that on April 14, 2023 at about 00:15 in Artashisyan Street of Yerevan an unknown driver in the car of “Gaz 31105” make ran over a pedestrian, a resident of Yerevan, born in 1981. The latter died at the scene of the bodily injuries he had received. The car was found on the railways adjacent to the mentioned place.

A criminal proceeding was initiated in the Division of Investigation of Traffic Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 2 of the Article 342 of RA Criminal Code and preliminary investigation started.

In the result of investigative and procedural tactically effective actions factual data were obtained on the allegation that on the mentioned day between 00:00 and 00:30 in Artashisyan Street of Yerevan there was an incident between the above-mentioned 42 year-old resident and 44 year-old resident of Yerevan. Particularly, they scolded each other during which 42 year-old man fired several shots from the pistol of “Makarov” model kept by him illegally. After it 44 year-old man’s nephew – the minor, born in 2006, drove the car of “Gaz 31105” make towards 42 year-old man, chased him for some distance and willfully running over him illegally deprived of life. Then leaving the car on the railways located nearby he fled.

On the base of the obtained new facts a criminal proceeding was initiated in the Division of Investigation of Traffic Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA IC according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code. The mentioned proceedings were combined further investigation of which was conducted in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department.

Inspections of the scene, the transport means were conducted, witnesses were questioned, forensic medical expertise of the body was commissioned. A fired shell and not fired bullets were found at the scene.

In the result of explanatory work 17 year-old young man turned himself to the investigative body and was arrested. Charge was pressed against him according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and by the court’s decision mortgage of 5 million AMD and home detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
