On March 4, 2023 reports were received in the First Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee from the RA Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informing that on the same day at about 20:03 in front of the hostel “Cocktail” located in Khanjyan Street, Yerevan two men were arguing one of which stabbed the other and the stabbed man was bleeding lying on the ground. Later a call was received from Hospital N 1 after Heratsi informing that one person with cut-pierced wounds on numerous parts of his body was taken to them from the mentioned address. 

On March 4 a criminal proceeding was initiated in the First Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation in the result of investigative and operative –intelligence measures taken jointly by the employees of the Investigative Division and the Police, the stabbed person was identified, the latter was found the victim but he could not give testimony. The clothes he was wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated in hospital.

Through inspection of the scene blood-like traces and other items of interest to the investigation were found and taken. A number of witnesses were questioned.

On March 5 at 01:40 21 year-old young man was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of committing murder attempt and was brought to the investigative division from the mentioned address of Komitas Street of Yerevan.

Through inspection of the scene conducted with the latter’s participation the knife with blood-like traces, which was the instrument of the crime, was found in the yard of one of the houses in Tumanyan Street of Yerevan.

In the result of urgent investigative actions it was found out that at the area of “Oghakadzev” park of Yerevan 21 year-old man stabbed the victim on the chest with a knife he had with him after which he fled, ran to the hostel “Cocktail” located in Khanjyan Street, Yerevan and 21 year-old man chased him, at the mentioned place stabbed the victim for numerous times with the same knife and fled. Pursuant to initial data, the reason of the argument was scolding because of which the young men had arranged to meet in the 6^th sector of “Oghakadzev” park.

On March 5 at 02։45 information was received from Hospital N 1 after Heratsi that the victim had died in the resuscitation unit without regaining consciousness.

During preliminary investigation a number of expertise were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
