In the result of necessary measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was found that the 70 year-old woman did not die of cardiovascular insufficiency but became a victim of violence.

On January 15, 2018 at 01:40 a call was received from “Ambulance” LLC informing that in one of the flats of Saryan Street of Yerevan the body of the resident was found. It was found that the victim lived alone. During preparation of materials her daughter told that she visited her mother’s flat on the night of January 14 and the door was not locked. After it having examined the flat she found out that golden and silver jewels, as well as silver items were missing.

During preparation of materials the investigative body received the copy of the woman’s death certificate according to which her death had been caused by cardiovascular insufficiency.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Point 1.1 of the Part 3 of the Article 177 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory plan was worked out and necessary investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted to reveal the theft. Besides, forensic medical examination of the body was commissioned to find all circumstances of the woman’s death.

During preliminary investigation the result of the forensic medical examination was received according to which traces of violence were found. Particularly, pursuant to the examination conclusion N 0078 many small and fresh hemorrhages of soft tissues and thyroid gland, indirect fractures of the second, third, fourth left ribs and second, third right ribs were found which had been inflicted with a blunt item while she was alive about 2 hours before her death and were accompanied with acute respiratory failure. According to the experts the mentioned injuries contain elements of heavy damage to health which caused her death.

Considering that during preliminary investigation features of alleged crime of illegal willful deprivation of woman’s life were found a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and a decision was made to join these two criminal cases in one proceeding.

Investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume are conducted to reveal the elderly woman’s murder.
