In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of the armed incident that took place near the restaurant complex operating in Shengavit administrative district were found out; charge was pressed against one more person.

It was earlier informed that on August 25, 2019 two residents of Yerevan, born in 1976 and 1960, with firearm injury on the left lateral part of the abdomen /clinical death/ and firearm injury of the left thigh, firearm injury on the lower third part of the right thigh bone, multi-fracture of the right thigh bone, correspondingly, were taken to “Erebuni” medical center.

Through investigation conducted within the criminal case initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department a number of circumstances of the case, the motive were found out.

Particularly, on August 25, 2019 at about 17:30 a number of persons gathered in the restaurant operating in Shengavit administrative district to demand clarifications about indecent humiliation of dignity. The resident of Yerevan, born in 1994, being aware of clarifications to be taken place, taking a firearm with him went to the mentioned restaurant and took part in the mentioned meeting. The meeting turned into a quarrel then into brawl which went on outside the restaurant in E. Tadevosyan Street where 25 year-old young man fired shots for numerous times and fled.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 25 year-old young man according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.

We remind that within the mentioned criminal case two more persons were involved as a defendant, search was declared against one of them – 43 year-old resident of Yerevan.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
