Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of the incident that took place in Yerevan on May 1, 2019.

On May 1, 2019 at 03:35 a call was received in the operative management center of Yerevan Department of the Police from Shengavit medical center informing that a taxi driver of one of taxi services of Yerevan took two brothers of about 30 years old, both stabbed, to hospital.

Pursuant to certificate received from Shengavit medical center one of the brothers was taken to hospital with 4 cut-pierced wounds on the chest and abdomen. The latter was operated on, however during the operation at 05:15 his biological death was registered.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

Pursuant to information received from medical center the other brother was diagnosed “cut-pierced penetrating wound on the neck and the left part of the chest, left-wing pneumothorax”.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

A decision was made to join the mentioned criminal cases and continue investigation in one proceeding.

In the result of urgent investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case, the scene, the motive were found out, the victims were identified; they are residents of Yerevan, born in 1988 and 1987.

In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is also a resident of Yerevan, born in 1987. The latter was arrested on suspicion of committing murder and inflicting heavy bodily damage.

Forensic medical examination, forensic medical examination of the body, forensic biological, forensic trace examinations were commissioned, more than a dozen of witnesses were questioned.

Investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of all circumstances of the case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
