Murder in “Gold’s World” Market; Suspect Arrested

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder committed on June 2 in “Gold’s World” market, the suspect was arrested.

On June 2, 2018 at 22:00 a call was received from “Nairi” medical center informing that the resident of Yerevan Armen Avdalyan, born in 1983, with “cut-pierced wound on the right part of the chest” was taken to medical center. The latter said that he had sustained the injury during the argument in “Gold’s World” market operating at 24, M. Khorenatsi.

On the same day at about 22:05 a call was received from “Ambulance” substation informing that the ambulance brigade N 01 that had left for 24, M. Khorenatsi on the base of call found the body of Aram Asatryan, born in 1979, with cut-pierced injury in “Gold’s World” market.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory plan was worked out. In the result of urgent investigatory and other procedural actions a number of circumstances were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified, he was arrested.

Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, on June 2, 2018 at about 21:00 a row erupted between the security employees and G. Ghahramanyan engaged with production of golden jewels in the supermarket and the latter’s friends. During the argument one of the participants stabbed the security employees A. Avdalyan and A. Asatryan. In the result of bodily injuries A. Asatryan died at the scene, A. Avdalyan was taken to “Nairi” medical center.

Through inspection of the scene the videos of the cameras were taken and inspected. Forensic medical examinations were commissioned.

The person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is also a resident of Yerevan, with higher education, born in 1983 and is learning to make jewels. The suspect was arrested and questioned. The latter presented the knife which was the crime tool.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.  

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
