On June 2, 2021 at 10:58 a call was received informing that murder had been committed in front of “Moscow” cinema located in Abovyan Street, Yerevan. The investigative-operative group immediately left for the scene and found a man’s body with a firearm injury on the head on the road in front of Abovyan 7.  

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder and illegal procurement, carrying of weapon.

In the result of urgent measures taken jointly with the employees of the RA Police the person who had sustained fatal firearm injury was identified; he is a resident of Gavar, born in 1971.

Necessary investigative and other procedural actions were conducted, among them inspection of the scene during which a fired capsule was found and confiscated, samples were taken, a number of witnesses were questioned, forensic medical examination of the body, forensic ballistic and forensic genetic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to identify the person having committed the alleged crime, to find and bring him to the investigative body.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
