Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on voting instead of another person in polling station N 1/07 was completed in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

On December 23 materials prepared in Police Station of Nor Norq on the base of the publication entitled “Somebody else has voted instead of the member of “Bright Armenia” Mane Tandilyan” inserted in news site “1in.am’’ were received in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts.

It was found that on December 6 the voter of polling station N 1/07 Mane Tandilyan went to the polling station to vote where she found that somebody had already signed instead of her and she declared about it. A protocol was made on the case and M. Tandilyan left the polling station.

On the base of the prepared materials on December 25 a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code.

Through preliminary investigation the person who had voted instead of M. Tandilyan was identified.

According to the obtained evidence the commission member of polling station N 1/07 K. Stepanyan wrote invented passport data before the name of the voter, signed and sealed then cast the ballot into the ballot box.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against K. Stepanyan according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
